Work Experiance Evidence

For my work experience I have been filming and editing a Table Tennis Promotional video. I got a letter on the 15th March 2015 from a Joe Britnell asking me if I can get footage of the Dover table tennis tournament.

20th March- 1PM I went to the sports centre with the client to get details of where and what to be shooting and how the tables are going to be set up. Finished at 2pm

21st March- 8am- Met with the client and drove down the the leisure centre for the day of filming. We then set up the cameras and got more information of what he wanted us to film.

9am-12 am- starred filming some of the hard bat matches and the handicap matches

12:30-1pm- Moved over the SD card files to hard drive and wiped them ready for more footage

1pm - 4pm- more recording handicap matches and a few doubles games. Then I left for my part time job

The next day 22nd March - we met up again at 8am to discuss what is going on during the day, we then set up the cameras and the equipment.

9am-11am - we started to film the singles and the start of the doubles.

11-11:30 - we moved the files from the SD card to the hard drive.

11:30-1 - we filmed more doubles and singles.

1-2 we had a lunch to discuss the rest of the day and about the finale matches a bit later.

2-4 There was under 40's singles that we filmed whilst they wrapped up the singles before they started the Semi finales.

4-6. Finished filming the under 40's matches and the finales was about to begin. Before they began we copied of the files from teh cards on the hard drive and wiped the cards.

6-7:30 - This is when the finales was played, we filmed every match from start to finish, we only managed to get a 5 minute break before each match.

7:30-8pm - this was the final celebration ceremony for this I was taking pictures of the winners and runner ups collecting their medals.

8-8:30 - In this time we was clearing the equipment and helping the crew put away the table tennis tables / other equipment.

Work Experiance - Thurs 4th June 2015 - KMFM Filming/Celebration Ceremony Mixing

We turned up at 1pm to start the day to understand what is about to happen, look over the equipment, and learning about the rules.

It started of with us meeting Zoran who took us to a room to discuss what was happening, he told us that a crew from KMFM was coming to do a live radio session in the college and they wanted us to film it. He also explained that he wanted a 3 minute video that documents the day so anything we can record to fill that time up can be useful.

Zoran then started to talk about the Celebration Ceremony and what we will need to do for this, he explained that there is going to be three cameras set up in the hall which is going to a live feed, this means he will need three camera operators and a mixer. The mixer job was to change the camera shot from camera to camera to change what an audience will see on the live screen. I choose to take on the responsibility of the mixer to cut from shot to shot.

After everything was explained Steve came in with the two cameras we are going to be using to film the KMFM set up/live session for the documentary. This camera was the JVC GY-HMZ1E:

We took the camera to a quiet area to test different shots, how to focus the camera, the different settings and how to start recording. We did a sound test to see what the built in microphone sounded like and to see if we liked the quality of the recordings.

At around 2:30 we got news that the KMFM crew has arrived so we met up in the hall, at the hall we decided what roles we wanted to do, one crew would go film them arriving in the car and the other would set up the cameras in the hall. I was part of the crew who went to film some extra footage with the KMFM crew.

For the filming we decided to film one of the members getting out of the KMFM car, this is to get a Britain got talent feel to the documentary. We choose to only film the feet/door height of the crew getting out of the car, then as she was walking panning to get a bigger shot:

After that we filmed it the KMFM crew walking into the building, this can also be used to fill the 3 minute documentary.

After we finished filming this we went back into the main hall while the KMFM crew was eating, and we was helping set up the camera, hiding the cables etc. This was from 3-4:

From 4-5 I got taught about the job I was going to do, witch was the mixing:

From 5-6 I was practising the mixing:

From 6:15 that is when the celebration ceremony started, it finally finished at 7:30:

From 7:30 till 8:30 we finally helped clearing the hall.
